Hawthorne presents the idea of frustration through Pearl with her emotions expressed, just like the movie Inside Out the girl expresses her emotions of frustration through anger, sadness, and fear. She also expresses her happy moments with her family. In The Scarlet Letter, Pearl expressed her frustrations through tantrums and crying. The character Mr.Dimmesdale goes through guilt if being a sinner and keeping a secret just like in Beauty and The Beast, the character Belle was guilty of falling in love with the Beast.
